Skate Park... Update

Ashbourne's New Mini

Ok, it's maybe on a bit of a slant and one transition is bigger than the other but, we thought it was a welcome addition to an other wise street orientated skate park. Now at least there is something for nearly everyone to have a go at.

The surface is plastic, like the rest of the park(something like skating on lino and not being told off by yer mom) under foot its as slick as a bastard, but under trucks it's quite smooth and the wheels stick well.

Ok... well at least one 'finger cloud' photo's allowed...thanks Phil

Goofy v Regular

Area 51 in Eindhoven Holland

G V R, alot of great Euro skaters turned up for this comp, some as young as 14 were throwin it down.
In the end the Regulars won, but everyone was stoked on the comp to much to notice.

Best trick went to Denny Pham from Rostock Germany with a nollie backside 360 heel over the euro barrels.

Check out a 30min. feature on Sky Eurosport2 ch.411 all next week.

Spotted: Carpark gap

So the stores road bank gaps are another day's battle - try this little gap to put your stuff down. It's not huge but enough to keep most people entertained, just watch the run up; it's a bit rough.

Get an idea of size

It's more length than height here

Could look good stuck on the end of a line

So, get there and try it out. Probably best after 6pm so there's defo no cars, but it's in the least used part of the Kingsway industrial estate car park. If you get something down it, send us a picuture + we'll pop it on the site. 6 tricks on the Sabbath anyone?

Spots Review

Hit the Blocks in Sheffield

A new build at Sheff Uni has turned up some new stuff to skate.
Situated just off Greave Street near the round about, we call this place the Block Party, as it has numerous fore mentioned chunks to play on.

*Don't forget securities tight during office hours.*

They have slightly chamfered edges but that shouldn't stop you from locking in.

A biggun calling out to be ridden... now now!

A 360 in shadow from Gav P

Least they got this right!!

Spray..."Between the Lines"

Phlegm Bombs a Wall @ Devo

A quick call to Phlegm for a skate, got him stoked on doing a graff at Devonshire Green, Sheffield just so we could watch.
For loads of years Devo's been virgin territory for this Dude, but just recently he finished a master piece at the rear of "Rare and Racy" a shop that sells graffiti prints and originals(Devo Street/Division Street), see pics below.

Startin out... cover the over tagging!

Base coat cream and aubergine over.

Eye eye...stop it!

Finish prody... you like?

We were blessed with the weather, and within an hour the sprayn was complete and we were back to practicing the 360s.

Mural behind "Rare an Racy", loads of detail and its big.
Take the time, have a butchers... you'll be glad ya did.

Shit turned to gold!

Up North Trip

Our monthly filming trip took us North with the team to check out some new concrete at Wakefield then on for an ice cream to Hyde Park, Leeds.

4 cars crammed in Craig Smedley, Miles Clark-Wallace, Chris Gair, Jonesy, Will Golding, Dave Ford, Rad Dad, Phil Stevenson, Kate Roelich, Matt Wilnought, Adam, Ryan and Becca.

Wakey skatepark here we come...

Arrived just after 11am and by the looks of it, so did the rest of Yorkshire!

New set up took a pasting

Chris - Front 5-0

Craig warms up with a nose manny

Craig - Switch flip

Smedders also switch fs flip the hip

Jonesy - Blunt Fakie

Miles rock and rolls the crater

Miles got a blunt flip out on this tranny

rock, paper scissors...

A set of SKATE shadows

The boys roll one while watching the game of skate

Will Golding ripped all day

So, by 2pm the dodging of bikes took it's toll and Hyde Park was set up on the Tom Tom.

Hyde park was at it's best, the sun was out and the tricks were big.

Craig rolls in with his Sunday roast

Rad Dad was psyched

These blocks were entertainment for all

Miles trés are massive

Hardflip practice

Chris winds down with an ice cream

So, within 40 miles of each other are 2 wicked parks, both in West Yorkshire. Probably avoid Wakey when there's likely to be a million kids there on their oversized bikes i.e. weekends. Leeds is rad anytime though, with locals like Joe Lynskey you're in for a treat.
